Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that President Maithripala Sirisena has given him the chance to continue the government without the change of prime minister.
The meeting between the Prime Minister and the United National Party was held last night at Prime Minister's House. A member of the party said Ranil had released this information.
The Prime Minister has noted that the Speaker has succeeded in reconciling the present political crisis.
However, the Prime Minister stressed on the need for the government to revive the party within three months, the member added.
