A.R. Rahman to Launch Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour in June

Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer A.R. Rahman will launch the Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour at the Nassau Coliseum on June 11, according to a report in Variety. The tour will visit more than 20 cities, including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Paris, Amsterdam, Oslo, Glasgow and Toronto and will conclude on July 26 at London's Wembley Arena. Amy Tinkham will serve as creative director for the piece.

The concerts will be a blend of music, technology, dance and acrobatics and will feature music from Rahman's film soundtracks, as well as his collaborations with Michael Jackson, with whom Rahman was working before the singer's death last year.

Rahman received two Academy Awards and a Grammy Award for his music for Slumdog Millionaire. In addition, he has written the scores for the stage musicals Bombay Dreams and Lord of the Rings.
