AR Rahman ,SRK,Amitabh,Ranbir,Vidya win FICCI-Frames awards

Oscar winning musician A.R. Rahman was adjudged the Global Icons of the Year at the ongoing FICCI Excellence Awards 2010, While SRK was named as the 'Global Entertainer of the Year' award. Rahman, whose appearance at the event was a closely guarded secret till the last day, said in his acceptance speech, "I am glad I made it. It's a new experience."


Khan said, "I am extremely happy. It is good to know that I have received award for being a global entertainer. But still there is a long way to go. I love to entertain people through my films and I will continue to do so."



The three day Global Conference on the Business of Entertainment discussed various issues such as piracy and the state of script writers in India. The event commenced with a dazzling closing ceremony comprised of fireworks, performances and awards show.

Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan accepted their Best Actor awards for Paa; Ranbir Kapoor won the Entertainer of the year award. 3 Idiots won the best film and Best Director Award. Pritam Chakraborty was presented the best music director award for Imtiyaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal.

Pritam Chakraborty was presented the 'Best Music Director' award for Imtiaz Ali's 'Love Aaj Kal'. "I am thankful to FICCI and to Imtiyaz for giving me an opportunity to be part of the movie," he said.

Television industry had its share of limelight with Colors bagging the 'Most Successful TV Channel of the Year' and Zee TV's reality dance show 'Dance India Dance' declared the 'Most Successful Non-Fiction Show of the Year'.

Daily soap 'Uttaran' was named the 'Most Successful Drama Series of the Year', actor Ayub Khan grabbed the 'Best Actor of the Year, TV, Male' and Ulka Gupta of 'Jhansi Ki Rani' got the 'Best Actor of the Year, TV, Female'.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)-Frames 2010, the global convention for the business of entertainment came to an end after three days of debates and discussions on various issues faced by the entertainment industry in India.
