Ajith is back on track on a Formula 1600 car, watch live on feb 14th at Irungattukottai, Sriperumputhur

Ajith, who preferred to stay away from car racing, is back on track. The actor will wroom on the racing track at Sriperumbudur on a Formula 1600 car, one of the vehicles with fastest engines, sources say.

We all know that our beloved Thala Ajith Kumar's love on car race. He has participated in world class Formula 3 races and won prizes. As he felt that his racing passion affected his cinema career, he stopped participating in car race for the past few years.

Now he has decided to participate in MRF Formula 1600 International Challenge series which is to be held at Madras Motor Race Track, Irungattukottai, Sriperumputhur on Feb 14th, 2010 (Coming Sunday). MRF offers a total prize money of Rs 30 lakhs.

Ajith will be driving the below car:


He is going to race with the newly introduced MRF F-1600 race car along with the 'Fastest Indian' F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan and rising talent Karan Chandokh. It will be a 15 lap race. The car is built by MRF’s chief tuner J. Anand of Coimbatore, and is equipped with 1600cc Ford Duratec engine that develops 130bhp.

The actor had made a name for himself in the racing circut and had even won a podium at Formula 3 Scholarship Races. Eventually a series of injuries forced him to opt out of racing circut and concentrate on film career.
